It’s time to leave the great state of California. The geography will be missed, and so will this car and many of my other toys.

Titled and currently registered until Dec. 2020 in my name.

I am selling my 1982 BMW 320i coupe. This is a 5 speed manual car. I am the second registered owner since it was purchased from Long Beach BMW in 1982. I searched for months to find the right E21 to fit my needs. I  test drove countless piles of junk and sorted through all of the dubious craigslist ads and other online sources. This car called to me. It was very modestly offered for sale. It didn't make any promises or false statements of conditon. The ad, just like the car, was very honest, and humble in its offering.

First impressions being what they are, I was instantly smitten, though I did not want to show it. This was the very same model that my dad had when I was young. Having just lost my father, I wanted to have something to serve as a physical memory of him and for my childrens' grandfather. The car smells just like dad's did. It makes all of the same noises. Though it's not his car, it still holds a very special place for me, and has allowed me to grieve him and honor him over this past year.

Please watch the videos and study the pictures. This car is not perfect. It does have some small dings in the body work. It has been given a quality re-spray some time in the early 90s. It does have some very small areas of paint that have been touched up. THERE IS NO RUST ON THIS CAR!!!

It starts cold on the button. The defogger switch was replaced by me, and has recently failed, as they all seem to do. The AC components are all present, but it is inoperable. If I was not leaving CA, it would be a no-brainer for me to fix this system. The after market radio/cd player is excellent, as is the sound system.

As mentioned, there is no rust on this car. It is tight, the doors shut like a German car should. The shifting is flawless. The braking is ample, as is the acceleration. There aren't too many areas to flaw this car when it comes to the performance. I hope that I am as humble as the previous owner with this ad, because in a lot of ways, I am selling part of my father with this car. My inevitable move out of this state prevents me from taking many of my prized possessions. I hope the next owner appreciates this car as much as I have.

Items included in the sale (not installed):

black silicone coolant hoses and stainless clamps
very gently used stock steering wheel
new Bosche fuel pump
new fuel filter
oil filter
alternator bushings
left and right front bumper accordians and reflectors

I can hold the car for an agreed upon amount of time while shipping/collection is arranged--AFTER full payment has been made.
