Up for sale is 1 of 3 motorcycles I am selling. Time to thin the herd and move on to other projects. Ive owned this 1957 MV Agusta CSTL for about 5 years now. I purchased this bike from Michael Harper Smith. Anyone looking at this bike, and knowing what it is, knows of or personally knows Smith. I have had the pleasure of purchasing several motorcycles from him. He is a man of few words, but his words carry with it some very heavy weight when it comes to this vintage of Italian motorcycles. They are sold VERY well sorted, unless otherwise stated. This bike was no exception. Rough and ready. It fired up first kick on his property when I came to collect it. I love the sound of that exhaust coming through that narrow slit silencer! Sounds like the old Brooklands racers of the early century. It is a pleasure to ride, and its 175cc engine is no slouch in pulling my 200lb body through the twisties without even a complaint. A couple of years back, we met some guys over at the central coast and did a mini Giro race. We took our bikes up from Paso Robles to Lake Nacimiento and back. Like I said-- pure pleasure. These bikes really illicit deep feelings in me. They are little pieces of jewelry that perform and excite the senses. The smells, the sounds, and the feeling of that motor just beneath you.... As pictured, the bike has paint issues on the tank. The frame has probably been touched up. Wheels are new and correct, as are the zinc plated spokes. The hubs are correct, but the speedo drive is missing. The speedometer surround (inside the instrument) spins around as the engine vibrates- will need or not need attention. Speedometer does work, though. The brake switch is missing. It was shorted out, and removed and I just never got around to replacing it. I know Guzzino carries one for this bike. The headlamp, tail lamp work-- and the bike runs without a battery just fine, which is how I usually ride it. I do have the correct battery hold down that will be included in the sale. Pleas ask questions. I'm happy to answer. This is a great low cost collector bike, sure to keep appreciating.
