Up for your consideration is my 1998 Ducati 916SP This bike was produced to homologate the new 996cc engine for Superbike competition. The Desmoquattro engine and chassis saw a very limited run of  the mid 700's for 1997 and just over 1000 units produced for the domestic market and abroad, for the 1998 year. Here in the US, this bike could be considered a "grey market" vehicle. The EPA and its stringent policies regarding noise and emissions pigeon holed this bike for track or race use only. Ducati were able to find a loop hole for this. Instead of emasculating this thoroughbread, and hence, compromising the quality of the name, these bikes were sold with all of the requisite legalities to register on the street. A 17 digit VIN, DOT headlamps, brake lights, horn, etc., were all standard equipment. To get around this, Ducati provided a waiver to would-be clients that this should only be ridden on the track. I'm sure they knew what they were doing, because most of the produced bikes were "legally" registered for road use. 
This particular motorcycle has only seen 9449 miles since new. I have ridden it sparingly since my purchase years ago. It has been sitting patiently in my collection like a caged animal. I am not a young man any more, and these bikes, if you are familiar with them at all, are a hand full. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions along the way. I have provided copies of the most recent service, at almost $3k, which included new tires, fuel pump, oil service, etc. I have not put any miles on since the service last year.
